Who we are

HLP (Holland Legacy Pump), part of the J. de Jonge Group, specializes in high-quality pump solutions, spare parts, and maintenance. We provide complete solutions for customers across various industries and strive for quality, reliability, and long-term customer relationships. To strengthen our business development team, we are looking for an ambitious Sales Engineer who combines commercial drive with technical insight.

 

What will you do?

As a Sales Engineer, you are responsible for achieving the sales objectives of HLP. You advise customers, develop new markets, and maintain long-lasting relationships. You offer customers complete solutions ranging from new pumps to spare parts, service, and maintenance.
You work closely with the Business Unit Manager, with whom you coordinate priorities, objectives, and the sales approach.

Your responsibilities

Preparation & planning

  • Providing data to support the determination of sales objectives and budget.
  • Drawing up (partial) sales plans in consultation with the Business Unit Manager.
  • Achieving personal targets within your market segment.
  • Analyzing market developments, investments, and competition.
  • Providing product information and documentation.
  • Participating in national and international trade fairs and seminars.

Commercial activities

  • Developing new markets through a structured approach.
  • Proactively approaching, visiting, and receiving potential customers.
  • Maintaining relationships with existing customers according to a planned visit frequency.
  • Performing acquisition and service activities.
  • Advising customers based on their technical requirements and needs.
  • Giving technical presentations and support.
  • Preparing, issuing, and following up on quotations.
  • Negotiating price, delivery time, and other conditions.
  • Handling complaints and contributing to solutions.

Other tasks

  • Ensuring accurate reporting (daily, weekly, monthly).
  • Recording customer contacts and visits in the CRM system.
  • Acting as a point of contact for customers and internal colleagues.
  • Ensuring compliance with delivery conditions.
  • Participating in commercial meetings within the organization.

 

Requirements

  • A completed technical education (minimum MTS+, preferably HTS Mechanical Engineering) or comparable practical experience.
  • Relevant experience in a technical-commercial role within the industry.
  • Strong technical understanding of pumps, process installations, and industrial applications.
  • Experience with sales, marketing, and negotiation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and social skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to analyze customer needs and translate them into appropriate technical solutions.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and general software programs.
  • Good command of Dutch and English; German/French is an advantage.
