Dow in the Netherlands operates at three locations — Terneuzen, Delfzijl and Dordrecht — where it produces plastics and base chemicals used in countless everyday products such as electronics, sports shoes, solar panels, cars, insulation and paint.
Within Dow’s large-scale Olympia Project, J. de Jonge | Progresso was entrusted with a highly critical and time-sensitive scope: performing complex hydrostatic pressure tests and reinstating high-pressure piping systems.
The challenge lay in executing these precision tasks under tight deadlines, ensuring compliance with strict safety, quality, and design standards — all while maintaining operational continuity on site.
The project involved multiple water-based pressure tests to confirm the integrity of newly installed piping networks. Every weld and connection was subjected to test pressures exceeding operational levels, verifying full compliance with Dow’s stringent specifications.
After successful testing, the reinstatement phase required meticulous mechanical work — reinstalling every valve, flange, gasket, studbolt, and support exactly as designed.
To support flawless execution, all critical tools and equipment were supplied by Lexrent, including electric impact wrenches, hoisting tools, fall protection, pressure pumps, and calibrated manometers. This ensured a safe, efficient, and compliant workflow across all phases.
The works were completed safely, on time, and in full accordance with Dow’s quality and safety requirements. All systems passed hydrotesting and were reinstated ready for operation, marking another successful contribution by J. de Jonge | Progresso to Dow’s Olympia Project.
