BASF is a global chemical company headquartered in Ludwigshafen, Germany. It is one of the largest chemical producers in the world, serving a wide variety of industries such as automotive, agriculture, construction, and energy, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and efficiency.
They tasked JLS with renewing a cylinder support that had been flagged as a point of failure during the annual maintenance of the loading arms. This issue was identified through the digital reports submitted during the maintenance. Based on this information, we collaborated with our German JLS team to initiate the repair.
To perform work at BASF, both the company and its employees must provide extensive documentation. For this project, we required a fitter, a welder, and a service technician. The welder had to present their certifications and undergo a welding test before beginning work on-site.
This test was then inspected by BASF’s auditors. The welding material and the material for replacing the cylinder support also needed to be certified.
The task was to remove the defective, bent bracket and replace it with a new, certified bracket. This required precise work and adherence to BASF’s rigorous standards and certifications for materials and procedures.
The repair was completed within one week on-site at BASF, with a few additional days allocated for preparation.
The client was highly satisfied with the on-site work, and BASF Ludwigshafen has expressed interest in engaging us for similar future projects.
