What will you do?
As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing technical solutions that contribute to the global energy transition. You will work on projects of varying sizes for leading international clients, primarily in the oil and gas industry, with a clear focus on sustainability and innovation.
You will oversee engineering projects from concept to execution, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and at the highest quality standards. Your role involves both technical expertise and leadership, guiding a team of engineers and serving as a technical advisor within the company.
What You Will Do
- Managing the engineering team;
- Transforming the requirements specification into a sustainable conceptual design;
- Implementing project-specific laws and regulations in the design of (Marine) loading arms for our global projects;
- SolidWorks simulation for Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of structural components and pipe stress calculations;
- Wind tunnel simulation through Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to determine and further optimize the surrounding wind pressure coefficient (CF);
- Contributing innovatively to reducing the ecological footprint, both during manufacturing and in customer use;
- Continuously improving our designs for applications such as the transfer of LH2, LCO2, LNG, and NH3;
- Optimizing the conceptual design and developing it to AFC (Approved for Construction) status;
- Preparing P&IDs, MTOs, or BOMs including drafting of requisition specifications;
- Securing lessons learned from gate reviews and project evaluations;
- Complying with safety regulations, preventing workplace incidents, and actively participating in departmental safety initiatives;
- Carrying out personal tasks in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Maritime Technology, or Aerospace Engineering);
- Strong command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written;
- A passion for innovative technologies and excellent problem-solving skills;
- Experience working as a Lead Engineer.
