What will you do?

As a Piping Designer at JMEC Engineering you work in a team of engineers with a practical approach and focus on a diverse range of projects from FEED to the delivery of construction drawings and isometrics.

You will mainly work at our office in Vlaardingen on a diverse range of innovative, practical and flexible projects and solutions. Examples of projects you’ll be working on are complete tank storage terminals with pipe racks, Jettys, train/truck loading station and pumping stations. You use 3D scanners to generate point clouds at various locations and use them as a basis for engineering assignments.

After receipt of the sales order, you coordinate the integral design according to customer-specific, environmental and safety requirements. In consultation with various parties and departments, you are responsible for the detail engineering in accordance with the applicable standards and customer specifications and for the delivery of all documents for manufacturing and assembly.

You are familiar with; P&IDs, 2D design, 3D modelling, layouts, isometrics, pipe supports and codes such as PED, EN13480 and ASME.

You continuously inform the head of engineering and the customer about the progress of the order, whereby you focus on; maximum customer satisfaction, planning, costs, risks and technical integrity of the project. You are flexible, have knowledge of modern languages ​​(Dutch and English) and enjoy working on technically complex and challenging projects.

• Making measurements and site recordings using sketches and 3D scanners.
• Preparation of 3D models, isometrics, layouts, cross-sectional drawings, PFDs, P&IDs, line lists, etc.
• Drafting the 3D design using Autodesk Plant 3D.
• Focus on customer satisfaction, cost, schedule and technical integrity.
• Communicating progress with the customer and the manager/head of engineering.
• Identifying, registering and agreeing deviations from the Scope of Work (SOW).
• Assisting in common activities of other departments such as; work preparation (MTO), proposals, QA/QC etc.
• Providing aftercare for current and/or completed assignments.

Requirements

• You have an MBO and/or HBO work and thinking level (in mechanical engineering or similar) and you are interested in working with 3D software such as Autodesk Plant 3D and Inventor.
• You work proactively, are stress resistant and have a service-oriented attitude.
• You have excellent communication skills and written skills in the Dutch and English language.
