Harvest Midstream is a leading, privately held midstream services provider based in Houston, Texas. Their mission is to safely and responsibly deliver energy for the betterment of their employees and communities. They operate across multiple U.S. states — including Alaska, Louisiana, New Mexico, Ohio, Texas and others — with more than 6,000 miles of pipeline infrastructure. Their culture emphasises ownership, integrity and innovation, and they serve a broad base of customers from small producers to multinational oil & gas companies.
At TankX USA the assignment was to perform the jacking of a 61-metre (200-foot) diameter external floating roof tank at a customer site in Louisiana. The primary challenge lay in safely elevating the large storage shell to enable full access underneath, all while maintaining strict safety standards, executing the works within a demanding three-month timeframe, and avoiding disruption to the client’s ongoing operations.
The project scope comprised the following main elements:
Design and deployment of a custom hydraulic jacking system, engineered in-house by TankX USA, for lifting the complete tank structure.
Installation of a new crushed-stone foundation beneath the tank once elevated.
Replacement of the bottom plates of the tank to restore integrity and operational reliability.
Implementation of a leak-detection system under the tank floor area, ensuring enhanced monitoring and environmental protection.
Full project management from engineering, planning, logistics and execution by TankX USA’s experienced crew and proprietary equipment, ensuring integrated and efficient delivery.
The tank jacking was completed safely, efficiently and within the targeted timeframe of three months, meeting the client’s expectations in full. The successful execution underlines TankX USA’s ability to deliver technically complex large-scale maintenance works. Thanks to this achievement, the next tank jacking project is already scheduled, demonstrating the client’s trust and TankX USA’s commitment to delivering as promised.
