Flow Couple Arms Installation at DOW Freeport

About Client

Dow is a global leader in materials science, offering innovative solutions across various industries, including packaging, electronics, and healthcare. With a focus on sustainability, Dow manufactures high-performance products that improve efficiency, safety, and environmental impact. The company’s Freeport, Texas site is a key hub for the production of chemicals and advanced materials, contributing to Dow’s mission of delivering transformative innovations worldwide.

Our Activities

  • Manufacturing, supply, installation, and commissioning of four 8” Flow Couple Arms in carbon steel

Challenge

The Dow Chemical Company’s Freeport site is the largest integrated chemical manufacturing complex in the Western Hemisphere. As part of their process, condensate and water needed to be efficiently separated using a transportable separation unit. To achieve this, separators were mounted onto a truck, requiring a safe and reliable connection between the process piping and the inlet and outlet ports of the unit. JLA was chosen to provide the necessary loading arms to ensure secure and efficient operation.

Scope of work

JLA was responsible for the complete manufacturing, supply, installation, and commissioning of four 8” Flow Couple Arms made from carbon steel. Each arm was designed and built to meet stringent industry standards, ensuring durability and reliability in operation. JLA also managed the delivery and seamless integration of the loading arms into DOW’s system, ensuring that the separation unit could function effectively with safe and efficient connections.

The Result

With the installation of the four new Flow Couple Arms, DOW Freeport now benefits from a safer and more efficient process for connecting and disconnecting the separation unit. The upgraded system improves operational reliability while maintaining the highest safety standards, reinforcing DOW’s commitment to excellence in chemical processing.
